First Green Steps

Tourism Vancouver Island is undoubtedly taking steps to be more “Green”. While individuals within the organization and the organization as a whole have taken steps in the past to be more environmentally conscious, lately things have been a little more formal. For example, our organization’s strategic plan changed about a year ago to include the goal of “developing and implementing a strategy to assist the tourism industry to evolve in a sustainable manner.”

More recently an office “Green Team” was formed several months ago. The team was tasked with developing a Green Plan for the organization. A product of the Green Team’s efforts is this very blog you are reading right now. Additionally, the team came up with so many good ideas we ended up creating a tips sheet for all staff members. Hopefully there are ideas in there you can incorporate into your office or home environment.
